For Parish Groups (20 Pilgrims +) it is possible to arrange this Pilgrimage at any date and duration to suit your Group.

 

Itinerary and (Optional) Programme 2005

 

Day 1 - MONDAY
3.40 pm  Check-in at Heathrow Airport terminal 2
5.40 pm  Our Iberia Flight no IB 4121 takes off. 
10.22 pm  Land at Bilbao. Transfer by coach to our Hotel in Bilbao for dinner and overnight. .

NOTE:- Our 7th June Pilgrimage will spend the first night and Tuesday morning in Loyola visiting with Mass the house where St. Ignatius was born.

 

Day 2 - TUESDAY
am We will walk the short distance to the Basilica of Our Lady of Begonia for our Mass and then be shown a little of Bilbao.
pm
  After a break where you may purchase lunch of your choice our coach departs for Burgos where we will have a guided tour of the city. Visiting the Cathedral where we will see the chapel dedicated to the Apostle St. James.
Dinner and overnight accommodation in Burgos.

 

Day 3 - WEDNESDAY
am  After breakfast Mass in the Church of San Juan - Castrojeriz. Then our coach departs for Leon passing the emblematic villages of Fromista and Sahagun with its church San Tirso, and Corrion de los Condres where we will see the church of St Maria del Camino.
pm We will arrive in Leon for dinner and overnight accommodation.

 

Day 4 - THURSDAY
am  After breakfast and Mass in the Church of the Virgen del Canino we will head for Astorga. We will visit the Gothic Cathedral and the Bishops palace designed by Gaudi..
pm  Our coach departs for Cruz de Ferro which is situated 1500m above sea level. Passing the charming countryside, we drive through the village of Monlinascca then on to Ponferrada where we will see the Templarios Castle.

Day 5 - FRIDAY
am  After breakfast we will drive into the Galician area visit the village of O Cebreiro where we will celebrate Mass in the 9th century Chapel Santa Maria La Real which houses the chalice and paten of the 12th century Eucharistic miracle. We will see the ancient round thatched stone huts & folk museum.
pm We continue to Samus where we will visit the 16th century Benedictine Monastery originally founded in the 6th century. Then to our journeys end, Santiago de Compostela..
Dinner and overnight accommodation in Santiago de Compostela.

 

Day 6 - SATURDAY
am  After a good breakfast we will be met by our Santiago guide who will show us the Cathedral and the historic medieval town. We will celebrate our group Mass in the Chapel El Pilar by the main alter of the Cathedral.
pm Free time for private prayer and devotions, exploring the town and shopping!
Dinner and over night accommodation in Santiago de Compostela.

 

Day 7 - SUNDAY
am  Breakfast. 
We will attend the Pilgrims Mass in the Cathedral.
pm  Free time or optional excursion to Finisterre or O Corunna

 

Day 8 - MONDAY
  8.00 am  Breakfast. 
10.00 am  Mass in one of the Chapels of the Cathedral
  1.00 pm  Our coach departs for the airport.
  1.30 pm  Latest time check in Santiago Airport.
  3.35 pm  Iberia flight no IB 4236 takes off.
  4.40 pm  We land at London Heathrow Airport.

HOTELS
Hotels: We will be accommodated in 3 & 4 star accommodation throughout our Pilgrimage.

What’s included.
Return flights. All Government & airport taxes. Transfers & coach journeys shown in the itinerary. Half board accommodation based on a twin room. Porterage when provided.

What’s not included. Insurance.  Single-room supplement £20 per night. Beverages. Optional excursions. Entrance fee to the Museums etc & Gratuities.

Notes:- Dinner and breakfast in our hotel each day will be arranged at a time to suit each day’s programme. Mass will be arranged each day at a suitable chapel. Flight times may change. 

Coming from outside the UK?  If you would like to make your own arrangements and fly direct to Spain and meet us at the airport there is a discount of £170.00 on the July Pilgrimage and £190 on the September Pilgrimage.
